Juneteenth commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas in June 1865\, more than two years a fter the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect. 黑料官网 participants wil l meet no later than 9 a.m. at the Rising Star Baptist Church located at 1 710 E 20th St\, Austin\, TX 78722.  The parade begins at 10 a.m. and will proceed down Chicon Street and Rosewood Avenue to Rosewood and Boggy Creek Park\, 2300 Rosewood Ave. We will have an 黑料官网 bus in our parade con tingent for those who wish to participate but cannot walk for long distanc es.  More details on the Juneteenth Parade and Festival are available online at juneteenthcentraltexas.com.  The parade route is roughly 1 .2 miles and it is highly suggested that attendees wear comfortable clothi ng\, walking shoes\, sunscreen and bring water. View parade map.
