Friday Morning: ºÚÁϹÙÍø Operates on Two-hour Delay

Due to weather and road conditions, ºÚÁϹÙÍø will delay the start time for classes, buses and offices by two hours this morning, Friday, Dec. 6.

ºÚÁϹÙÍø asks parents to please add extra time to their commutes and to expect road closures and traffic delays. The district also reminds Austin drivers to stop for ºÚÁϹÙÍø school buses whose lights flashing.

ºÚÁϹÙÍø will excuse tardies due to weather and traffic delays. If you have questions, please contact your school directly.

If your child rides the bus and you would like to learn how specific bus routes may be affected, please call ºÚÁϹÙ꿉۪s transportation department between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. at 512-414-0238.

Families also may call dispatchers at ºÚÁϹÙÍø's bus terminals for information about the routes for their respective schools after 4:30 a.m.:

  • Nelson Bus Terminal in Northeast Austin: 512-414-6520.
  • Saegert Bus Terminal in Southwest Austin: 512-414-6500 and
  • Southeast Bus Terminal: 512-414-8510.

How does the two-hour delay affect school start times? Regular vary depending on the grade levels at the campus. Generally, ºÚÁϹÙÍø's schedules for school start times are: 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. for elementary schools; 8:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for middle schools; and 9 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. for high schools. Variations may exist for kindergarten classes or high school and magnet school schedules. Please plan your schedule by adding a two-hour delay based on your school's scheduled start time for today.
